The Retreat Practitioner
Mentorship Program
with
Dr. Tony Robinson
For more than 25 years, I’ve hosted, led, and facilitated retreats nationally and internationally.
From ministry and executive leadership retreats to women’s, business, and marriage gatherings and intimate one-on-one experiences, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when people intentionally step away and make space for something deeper.
In recent years, I’ve had the privilege of helping others take the retreat they’ve been carrying in their hearts and bring it to life.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to do more than help people plan single retreats or one-off experiences.
I wanted to create space for those who are ready to move beyond simply hosting retreats and begin developing this work as a practice.
That’s why I created The Retreat Practitioner™.
Because there’s a difference between hosting a retreat and stewarding one.
Between planning an experience and developing the capacity to hold it.
Between leading a retreat and building a sustainable practice around the work.
The Retreat Practitioner™ isn’t simply training on how to host or lead a retreat.
It’s formation for those who are ready to build the practice.
What This Is
The Retreat Practitioner™ is a six-month group mentorship for those called to develop retreat work as an ongoing practice rather than a one-time event.
This is not a blueprint or template program.
It's not a place to collect someone else's formulas, copy another retreat model, or learn how to package a beautiful weekend and sell it at a premium. Because becoming a retreat practitioner is about more than learning how to create an experience. It requires discernment, skill, and care to steward this work well over time.
You're not simply preparing to host retreats. You're developing a body of work that can grow with you.
I believe there are people who are genuinely called to retreat work.
Not because retreats are trendy.
Not because they look profitable.
Not because they want a platform.
And not because they're looking for another offer to add to their business.
But because something in them understands how powerful it can be when people are intentionally invited away from the noise of everyday life and given the space to encounter themselves, one another, and what might be possible for their lives.
That is who this mentorship is for.
My goal is simple:
To mentor people who are serious about becoming retreat practitioners and help them establish a practice they can steward with purpose and integrity.
What You'll Experience
Each month, we'll meet as a group and you'll also have dedicated private mentoring time with me. You'll have the shared learning, perspective, and relationships that come from developing alongside other practitioners, along with individual space to focus closely on your own work.
Group Mentorship - 90 minutes
Each month, we'll work through what it actually takes to build a lasting retreat practice: the discernment to design experiences that reflect who you are, the presence to guide people well, the relationships and collaborations that sustain this work over time, and the structure, pricing, and operations that allow it to be profitable and last.
Each session builds on the last, so by the end of six months, you'll have a practice with real foundations under itne you know how to operate, refine, and grow long after our time together. You'll also develop your first retreat through the mentorship, applying what you're learning in real time so that by the end of the six months, you have a retreat ready to open for registration.
Private Mentorship - 60 minutes
You'll have dedicated one-on-one time with me each month to walk through your specific practice.
This is where we can slow down, look at what is uniquely yours, and work through the things that may not need to be unpacked in the group setting. We'll look closely at the way your practice is taking shape. Your model, pricing, participant experience, facilitation approach, and the areas that need more clarity, structure, or refinement.
My role is to help you see what you may not yet see, and to guide both your practice and your first retreat from idea into something you're ready to carry forward.
Optional Guest Conversations
Throughout the mentorship, you'll be invited to optional conversations with people whose work intersects with retreat practice, including vendors, travel advisors, venue owners, and other retreat professionals.
These conversations give you direct access to the people and perspectives that often sit behind the retreat experience. How they approach their work, what they wish practitioners understood, and what to consider when choosing partners, services, and support for your own practices.
Graduation Retreat
At the conclusion of the mentorship, mentees will also have the opportunity to come together in person for a culminating Graduation Retreat.
*The Graduation Retreat is optional and priced separately.
Who It's For
The Retreat Practitioner™ is for people who feel genuinely called to retreat work and want to develop the skill, judgment, structure, and experience to do that work well.
This may be a good fit for you if:
-
You know retreat work is part of what you're meant to do, and you want to become a practitioner rather than host an occasional event.
-
You care deeply about the people you serve and the quality of the experiences you create for them.
-
You want to understand the full scope of the work—design, facilitation, participant care, hospitality, pricing, collaboration, enrollment, and the operations that hold it all together.
-
You're willing to examine your assumptions and strengthen your skills. You want mentorship, not a template.
-
You are prepared to spend six months developing both your practice and your first retreat alongside others who take this work seriously.
The Retreat Practitioner may not be for you if:
-
You're primarily interested in retreats as a quick way to make money.
-
You're looking for a plug-and-play blueprint, template, or model to copy.
-
You're more drawn to the aesthetics of retreat work than the responsibility of stewarding people well.
-
You're not open to examining your assumptions or being challenged and refined in how you approach the work.
-
You're looking for a shortcut, not a six-month mentorship.
What You'll Walk Away With
By the end of our six months together, you will have more than ideas and inspiration.
You'll have a clearly defined retreat philosophy and practitioner approach, greater clarity around who you are called and equipped to serve, and a practice supported by real frameworks, systems, and operating structures.
You'll know how every part of your work fits together, from how you design and hold an experience to how you price it, sustain it, and grow it over time.
You'll also have your first retreat fully developed and ready to open for registration.
And you will have spent six months developing alongside a community of people who take this work seriously—forming relationships, learning from one another, and building a professional network that can continue beyond the mentorship.
